Color always brightens up a living space and this fantastic sofa makes us so happy.  For even more happiness, the purple pillows are a lovely little touch.

Eye Catching Coffee Table

When you want the furniture to be the focal point of the room, choose something rich with culture and design.

We love how this designer found an otherwise damaged table and gave it new life.  Be on the lookout for furniture that will draw attention to the amount of effort you put into it.

Give Furniture New Life

Ottomans are a very creative and versatile piece. They can be used as both coffee tables and extra seating for guests.

When you use them as a coffee table like in the following picture, you add texture and variety to the room.

Floral Arrangements

Flowers are a quick and easy way to change up the look of a room every single day.  The following living room from @Lottahuvinen is very neutrally decorated. We love the muted colors that go with the oriental rug.

Pannelled Walls

The furniture and the rugs don't have to be the only design pieces in the room. Replacing walls with artistic pannelling will add warmth and texture.

We also really like the bookshelf and how the books are stacked in such an eye-catching way.

Wallpaper in Living Rooms

Yes, wallpaper is one of those things that can be distracting or difficult to design with, so choose wisely. But we can't help but want to curl up in the following living room. That stunning wallpaper adds to the decor instead of taking away from it!

With such a bold wall, the couch and rug has to be more neutral.

Blues & Blushes

The blue rug just feels at home with the blush wall and gold accents.  The blue couch and blush chair all pull from other colors in the room. It's a perfectly designed room for curling up with a good book.

Geometric Patterns

From the bricks in the wall, to the square pillows, rectangular rugs, and round lamps and table decor, this room extremely pleasing to the eye.

When decorating a room, experiment with shapes. Insert items that add interesting patterns. It doesn't have to be perfect, it can be fun!

Soft white lights can be used beyond Christmas. The ambience created with the luminescent glow is relaxing.

Search stores for accent pieces that light up to share the joy of lights in the room.

Blues & Greens

Once you purchase a blue oriental rug, you can use a variety of blues and greens in the decor.  Spice it up with pillows and draperies.

Go Vintage

Everything in this room is perfect. We love the ladder for variety and the record player for vintage memories. Bring up things from your past and incorporate them into your room.  Not only should your room tell a story about you, but it will make you feel eve more at home.

Mirror Mirror

Large mirrors in rooms add depth and dimension.  That chandalier in the following picture adds a wow factor, but the mirror makes it even more amazing since you see it twice!

When choosing a mirror, make sure to pick one that doesn't take away from other conversation pieces. Here, the artwork and light fixture demand attention so the mirror has a plain frame.

Focal Points

Use colors to draw the guests eye to the focal point you want them to see.

Here, the colorful frames above the fireplace and the furniture all facing the fireplace do a lot to create a comforting space for conversations.

Neutral Colors

With all this talk about colors, it's ok to stick with bright whites. I was drawn to this picture below because of the variety of textures without any real pops of color.

The pillows, blankets, and furniture all have different types of fabrics.

Books & Furniture

I am drawn to this velvety chair and how it coordinates with the books on the bookshelf.  Small tiny accents liks this tie a room together in a beautiful way.
