Carol U. The colors were very close to the sample. After a very long search, we are delighted to have this rug in our dining room!! The company is very easy to work with. Highly recommended!!!!!
Ken S. Our whole experience with Rugknots was excellent. The rug is perfect as described and photographed. George was was a huge help before we purchased. They seem to genuinely care about you as the customer at Rugknots. We'll buy there again!
Elaine B. Ordered a second rug after I got the first one as I liked it so much. The price is great, the rug is a good quality rug that looks like it cost a lot more. Good customer service also from the owners.

Pakistani Bokhara Rugs

Hand knotted on a vertical loom to exacting standards, these high quality bokhara rugs take four months to complete, and are weaved by our artisans with premium grade wool imported from the hills of New Zealand and the finest local wool farmers in Pakistan.

Originating from the city of Bukhara in modern day Uzbekistan – a World Heritage Site and historic center of commerce and scholarship on the ancient Silk Road trade route - Bokhara rugs were originally woven by the Tekke tribe, a nomadic Central Asian people.

As these beautifully intricate rugs were predominantly sold in the markets of Bukhara, they came to be named after the city itself – later also known as ‘Bokhara’. Often featuring a distinctive elephant foot motif in their original incarnation, it’s fair to say this type of rug has remained globally popular for centuries.

Our Unique Bokhara Rug Making Process

What sets our Bokhara rug collection apart is that during the manufacturing process, the pile is intentionally left significantly longer than average - to create a lavish, luxurious depth and thickness.

This rare practice is known as a ‘double pile’, and thanks to our skillful artisans, we manage to achieve a silk-like feel underfoot together with an intense design clarity usually missing in lesser deep pile Bokhara rugs.

Handmade Bokhara Rugs

Handmade to your precise specifications to fit the décor and layout of your home, our highly skilled specialists design each bokhara rug with a distinctive eye for elegance blended with a deep understanding of your unique style requirements.

Defined by symmetrical patterns of repeated oval or diamond shaped motifs, Pakistani Bokhara rugs are traditionally crafted with hues of rich red dye - but also feature lush greens, royal navy blues and luxurious brown tones.

At RugKnots, our hand knotted Bokhara rugs are washed exclusively with all natural vegetable dyes - to ensure your new piece is not only pleasing to the eye, but to the environment as well. Our top of the range dyes are also extremely durable, so your one of a kind rug will remain beautiful forever.

Providing the perfect juxtaposition of the modern and traditional in any contemporary space, choose a RugKnots handmade Bokhara rug to grace your home today.
