  • Kazak Rugs are luxurious rugs that originated in the Caucasus. The roots of this art are connected back to the 6th Century BC. At RugKnots, we produce rugs made by the most skilled artisans in Pakistan who use old world weaving techniques. Our Kazak Rugs are made using 100% wool from New Zealand and dyed using all-natural vegetable dye. Each rug is then hand washed a final time to create a luxuriously soft finish. In the olden times, Kazak Rugs were used as floor coverings and hung from walls and placed on the throne or at the feet of the king. You can add a Kazak Rug to boring floors and blank walls. Searching for handmade oriental rugs? Our entire inventory of Oriental Rugs are one-of-a-kind, hand knotted rugs. Large Oriental Rugs can take years to weave, causing these popular rugs to be in high demand and low supply. However, RugKnots has been creating Oriental Rugs since 1987. We have some of the most skilled artisans in Pakistan who use old world weaving techniques.

Many synthetic rugs are dyed using chemicals that do have a risk of being toxic. We did an experiment to test the flammability of toxic rugs and the results were astonishing. All of our rugs are dyed using all natural vegetable dye. Vegetable dye prevents rug colors from bleeding or fading overtime. In fact, all Oriental Rugs should be dyed with 100% Vegetable Dyes.

We source all of our wool from New Zealand and then have the wool shipped to Pakistan to be handspun and made into our beautiful rugs. New Zealand is known to have the most ethical treatment of sheep among other countries. Our sheep are free to roam in fields, are fed adequately, and are only sheared when needed. We are proud to be among other companies that stand up against animal cruelty!

Child labor in the rug industry needs to be stopped! RugKnots is a proud sponsor to the Care & Fair Organization. We help provide education and health care to carpet knotting families in Pakistan, India, Bhadohi, and Vern. Unlike many other rug companies, RugKnots only employs expert rug weavers.
