I have a smaller version of this I ordered first to see the colours and quality. I like it, so I ordered a larger size to go under our kitchen table. It was very nice too but felt much darker in the room than I thought it would, and, because of the deepness of the pile, it was hard to move the chairs in and out from the table. Mostly the moving chairs were the issue. The colouring is beautiful if muted. I returned the larger size. However, I was helping a friend redecorate her living room around the same time and brought the little guy to her house, and she loved it so much she bought the 8' x 9,' and it looks fantastic, and she loves it! If I needed a living or family room rug, I would not hesitate. Just not great for places you need to move chairs (office, dining, etc.). The wool is soft and comforting on the feet. Synthetics can't compare, and the yarn isn't that hard to clean (I have two kids and two dogs and manage). I have antique Persian rugs, pottery barn rugs, Anthropologie rugs and this little guy. While it isn't the same quality as the handwoven antiques from my great grandmother (that I can't possibly afford more of, and they are thinner and more difficult to clean), this rug has the same quality as pottery barn (would not be shocked if made by same manufacturer) for a fraction of the price because it doesn't say pottery Barn on it. The singular concern I have is whether the factories are run humanely and fairly.
