The design on this Chinese machine made wool rug is dominated by rows of guls, vines and floral motifs that give it the traditional style. Traditional doesn’t have to be old! Traditional design meets contemporary style is what this rug from our Persian Garden Collection is trying to showcase. The colors are well into the muted vintage color palette but the design is dominated by rows of vine and floral motifs that give this rug the marriage of two styles in one perfect floor piece. We Promise Our Rugs Are:
Searching for handmade oriental rugs? Our entire inventory of Oriental Rugs are one-of-a-kind, hand knotted rugs. Large Oriental Rugs can take years to weave, causing these popular rugs to be in high demand and low supply. However, RugKnots has been creating Oriental Rugs since 1987. We have some of the most skilled artisans in Pakistan who use old world weaving techniques.
Many synthetic rugs are dyed using chemicals that do have a risk of being toxic. We did an experiment to test the flammability of toxic rugs and the results were astonishing. All of our rugs are dyed using all natural vegetable dye. Vegetable dye prevents rug colors from bleeding or fading overtime. In fact, all Oriental Rugs should be dyed with 100% Vegetable Dyes.
We source all of our wool from New Zealand and then have the wool shipped to Pakistan to be handspun and made into our beautiful rugs. New Zealand is known to have the most ethical treatment of sheep among other countries. Our sheep are free to roam in fields, are fed adequately, and are only sheared when needed. We are proud to be among other companies that stand up against animal cruelty!
Child labor in the rug industry needs to be stopped! RugKnots is a proud sponsor to the Care & Fair Organization. We help provide education and health care to carpet knotting families in Pakistan, India, Bhadohi, and Vern. Unlike many other rug companies, RugKnots only employs expert rug weavers.
